PUR Service Team / Project

During the last half of October 2017 members of the PUR International team will be making a trip to Northern Uganda to see for themselves the state of the refugee crisis in Uganda. Reports are that there are currently more than 1 million refugees living in camps throughout northern Uganda, and there are an average of 2,000 new refugees pouring into the country every day. Uganda takes in more refugees than any other African nation. The country is trying to support them as best they can, but it struggles to support it's native citizens. There are NGO's that are reaching out to help support the refugee's, but there is still much that can be done. For this trip in October we will be taking supplies with us to be able to support the organizations that are already working with these camps, and to gather information about how we can help in the future. Giving to this campaign will ensure that we are able to take as many supplies with us as we can. Following this trip we will be scheduling a team trip later on in 2018 in which we will take volunteers to serve within these camps in ways that will be the most beneficial to the refugees and to the organizations that are already reaching out to them.
